What's Going on in the Classroom? 




       
        -In English, we are learning the Question and Answer Flow. This helps us to identify and classify the parts of speech in a sentence. In the beginning, we started with sentences that had just a noun  and a verb. This week, we are learning the prepositional flow jingle-with all 51 prepositions!!
 You will find the words to the jingles on files located at the bottom of the homework page!
          


For example: 1. ______ The two  fish swam quickly in the water yesterday.
    We say:               
         " The two fish swam quickly in the water yesterday. 

                    What swam quickly yesterday?  fish, subject noun
            What's being said about fish?fish swam, verb
             Swam how?quickly, adverb
             
             Swam when? yesterday, adverb

             In---preposition
             In what? water, object of the preposition
             The---article adjective

             How many fish? two, adjective
             The--- article adjective
           
             Subject noun-verb, pattern 1, check
             In the water---prepositional phrase
             Period, statement, declarative sentence
             Go back to the verb. Divide the
             complete subject from the complete predicate."
